The overall tone of the paintings are intuitive rather than cerebral and organized. There is a fondness for warm colour and a Mediterranean atmosphere with spontaneous brushstrokes with bold paint. Hugo’s work is included in the collections of Danial’s Corp., Museum of Contemporary Art in Montevideo and the Uruguayan Consulate of Toronto.
